AgriDefend: Crop Stress Detection & Edge AI

AgriDefend is an offline-first edge AI system for pre-phenotypic crop stress detection, built to give farmers earlier intervention signals before visible wilting appears.

The invention includes a hardware bridge using ADS1115 + MAX485 to let a Raspberry Pi communicate with RS-485 Modbus soil sensors, plus a multimodal late-fusion AI architecture combining CNN visual analysis with Random Forest soil telemetry.

The system achieved 87% diagnostic accuracy and provides a 4-day early warning window before visible wilting occurs. Field testing included 21 Acres Farm and Hawthorn Farms, with the attached prototype hardware used as the bridge enclosure.
